National Beta Club is celebrating its 70th year in action. It's an honors club that requires a requisite 3.0 G.P.A. Beta Club requires more than good grades from its members however. Beta Club members must value honesty, justice, service, cooperation, responsibility, industriousness, humility, and clarity within themselves. Service to the community is a big deal to Beta Club.

Volunteer activity is often required for many scholarships, and it looks really good for college application purposes. A certain number of service hours are required each nine weeks for a member to remain in the club. A grade point average of 3.0 must also be maintained, or that member will be out on probation. They have a semester to bring the grade back up, or they will be kicked out of the club.
National Beta Club puts out six newsletters a year, these are definitely worth checking out. They're only $1.25 for all six issues.
