The Booker Arts Magnet School faculty and staff cultivate your children's growth in the academic areas as well as the fine arts. Growth does not simply happen. The Booker Arts Magnet School staff provides an environment of spontaneity within a climate of discipline which facilitates learning.
The faculty of Booker Arts Magnet School challenges your child to grow and strive for excellence, to express his or her individuality and cultivate creativity, thus expanding the children's horizons. Booker Arts Magnet educators celebrate your children's potential and nurture your children's development. They observe students as they grow and mature, as well as welcome each development stage as an exciting opportunity and challenge.
The faculty of Booker Arts Magnet School includes 55 certified personnel, each playing an integral role in the unique educational program at the school. The principal and assistant principal work with the carefully selected faculty: 2 curriculum specialists, 2 counselors, a speech and language pathologist, a special education resource specialist, 4 reading specialists, a literacy coach, 2 math specialists, a media specialist, 2 visual arts specialists, 1.5 orchestra specialists, 1.5 music specialists, 2 drama specialists, a technology specialist, a gifted specialist, and 29 classroom specialists.
Ninety percent of the certified personnel have had educational training above the bachelor degree. The Booker Arts Magnet faculty receives additional professional training thus enabling them to provide learning experiences in the arts as they teach the basic curriculum.
Booker Arts Magnet's support staff includes 2 office secretaries, a media secretary, a nurse, a computer lab attendant, 5 instructional aides, 4 custodians, and 6 cafeteria personnel.
